One-ingredient Peanut Butter
I’ve never been a peanut butter fan until I made this. It definitely is a game changer!!
No additives, preservatives, stabilizers, salt or oil. Just peanuts.
Peanut butter is not only a spread on toast. It is also used to make peanut sauce for satays/skewers, spring rolls and even noodles. You can make jars and jars of these natural nut butter and refrigerate for up to 6 months.
This may be the best peanut butter you’ve ever had and you will not buy another JIF or Skippy peanut butter again ;)
Ingredients
2 ½ cup roasted peanuts
1 Tbsp agave or honey (optional)
Instructions
1. Prep
Since I get roasted peanuts from Costco or Sam’s Club, they are often salted. Sift off the extra salt from the peanuts then add into a food processor.
2. Blend
Blend everything and jar them up! You can make 2 jars for this recipe. Simply double or triple it to make more.
3. Enjoy!
Spread on toast, make peanut sauce for spring rolls, or use it as a noodle sauce base.
Dietitian Notes
Peanut butter provides good amount of protein. 1 Tbsp has about 4g of protein. However, it is very high in fat since it is packed with Omega-3 and Omega-6s (higher on the 6 than the 3). Eating peanut butter sparingly is recommended.
Tips & Variations
You can literally make any nut butter using this recipe. Some nuts may be slightly drier or less oily than peanuts or almonds, you may have to add 1 Tbsp of olive oil or canola oil to help with the blending process.
